Wedding Invitation Stamps — To Announce The Wedding
The idea of sticking wedding invitation stamps on the envelope bearing the invitation has caught the imagination of couples all over the world. Recently, the award-winning firm Michael Osborne Design was also selected by the United States Postal Service to create the new Love stamp. This San Francisco-based Michael Osborne Design came up with a beautiful bridal stamp and the first day issue ceremonies of the Love Stamp took place at the APS Stamp Show in Atlantic City, N.J.
The wedding invitation stamp called the Love stamp is extremely popular with the public, second in sales only to the annual Christmas stamp. The Love Stamp is printed in 37-cent and 60-cent denominations, and the 60-cent stamp is used almost exclusively for wedding invitations. The United States Postal Service prints nearly 1.2 billion Love stamps at one time.
